When is Narsimha Jayanti Puja in 2025 ?
Lord Narasimha is considered to be the most powerful incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is the fourth avatar who appeared from the pillar as half man and half lion. Lord Narasimha took birth to destroy the demon Hirnakashyapa and had the body of a human and the head of a lion. Fast kept during the Jayanti is considered to be more auspicious when combined with Vaishaka Shukla Chaturdashi, Swati Nakshatra and Saturday. Hirnakashyapa had a son Prahalad and he was a devotee of Lord Vishnu he didn’t like this, so he decided that he would kill Lord Vishnu. One day Hirnakashyapa asked his son whether Lord Vishnu was in the pillar, and his son replied yes, so Hirnakashyapa broke the pillar and from it, Lord Narasimha arrived and destroyed the demon. The Jayanti is celebrated in the month of Vaishakha on the fourteenth day.
