When is Shani Jayanti Puja in 2025
The day Shani Jayanti (also known as Shani Amavasya) arrives on the Amavasya of Vaishakh. This day is celebrated in the event of the birthday of Lord Shani which is one and the most powerful of the nine planets. On this day, people pray to Lord Shani to eradicate their Grah Doshas which came as a result of their birth chart. The main reason for worshipping Lord Shani is to minimize their malefic effects. Mainly the formalities known as Shani pooja and Shani Thali Abhishekam are done on this day for worshipping. Lord Shani does not bring troubles always in the life of an individual. The worshipping procedure of Lord Shani begins with washing the feet of Lord Shani’s idol with pure water and later that water is served to his devotees in the form of CharnaAmrit. The idol is bathed and black clothes are offered it. Other offerings to the idol in the procedure include incense and camphor. Also, diyas are lit with sesame seeds and Lord Shani’s prayers are enchanted. It is considered that donating Black Til and oil impresses Lord Shani a lot. Devotees also observe fast on this day and to break their fast they either eat Rice with Urad ki daal or black til after sunlight.
Doing ShaniPuja on the day of Shani Jayanti eradicates pitra dosh from the life of the individual. Apart from that it removes all bad effects and hurdles from life and opens up the path to success.
